Cafe/Bakeries.
Cafes, bakeries, and all things coffee that we can recommend from our time in Ecuador.
Ranti Kamak
Best coffee in San Cristobal. Non-frills setting. Few pastries available.
— San Cristobal, Galapagos
Bowl Acai Bar
Make your own Acai Bowls. Lovely, fresh ingredients. Price reflective of this being a popular tourist spot.
— Santa Cruz, Galapagos
Helados Tato
Only soft serve ice-cream. But for $1. This place can’t be missed. Also appears to be open 20 hours a day.
— Santa Cruz, Galapagos

Restaurants.
A glimpse into the bustling culinary scene in Ecuador and our favourites to share with you.
Jeta Smash Burger
A smash burger joint, in a shipping container. Guyaquil is only safely travelled by Uber, so don’t linger around this place or attempt to walk to it. But the quality of food from a limited menu is unreal. Highly, highly recommend.
— Guayaquil, Ecuador
Lucky’s
All day food. Local spot with very affordable prices. Should be world renowned for its mayonesa de albahaca. Essentially the ecuadorian take on Mayonnaise with crushed basil. if we could bottle it and take it home we would. Finger licking goodness.
— San Cristobal, Galapagos
Giuseppes
What appears to be the only Italian restaurant on San Cristobal. Some good quality items on the menu. Improvements to be made to the waiting times.
— San Cristobal, Galapagos
Empanadas Dianita
If you don’t try these homemade empanadas for $1.50 during your time here, consider it a wasted holiday. Fresh and local. Order as much as you want and expect a minimal bill at the end.
— Santa Cruz, Galapagos
La Calle de los Kioscos
The street where locals eat for $5. Highly recommend. Large selection of many restaurants selling similar iterations of popular Ecuadorian cuisine. Highly recommend for an authentic experience.
